If your state is anything like Ohio, you have had a pretty hot summer. While summer is great and arguably way better than winter (at least for those of you that live in a state that has snow), there is just something so special about Autumn. It’s cool enough for a sweater or sweatshirt but not so cold that you need gloves hats and scarves; Football starts back up and your weekends are spent doing activities like corn maizes or tailgating. Autumn also starts the beginning of home decorating season. Which for us here at Frame USA, is one of our favorite times (How could you blame us we sell Picture Frames!). The pumpkins have descended upon the store shelves and according to our sources, farmhouse decor is continuing to rise!
Lucky for us we have a whole line of products that fit right in with that farmhouse aesthetic. This line started with a simple product made from reclaimed wood that was taken from barns and fences in Oklahoma and Texas and it has grown to be one of our most popular lines to date. We’re talking about none other than our Barnwood Frames. To date we have 6 wood frame series, a Shadowbox and a specialty frame in this popular line. We also have an additional specialty frame that utilizes some of our Barnwood wood frames called the Baby’s First year Collage Frame, however it also comes in one of our other popular series, Corporate.
Barnwood Product Line
While we love all the products in our Barnwood line, there is one in particular that we want the world to know about. This product features everything we know and love about picture frames with an unique twist. It doesn’t hang on the wall and you can display things ON it as well as IN it. You may have guessed it but we’re talking about our Barnwood Tray. Based on our home decor trend research trays seem to be making a comeback. Not only are people opting for smaller gatherings at home with family and friends but they’re using trays as part of their decor. Trays are no longer thrown into the cabinet only pulled out when company comes knocking they’re out front and center on coffee tables, bar carts and fire place mantles.
Our barnwood trays feature the same rustic charm that our picture frames have but come in two different types. The first type comes in five colors: Grey , black, brown, white and traditional Barnwood finish and features a mirror in the center. This mirror is perfect for reflecting the room on a mantle making it seem bigger. The second time is the reason we’re here today gushing about these rustic beauties. It is also available in the same five great colors but this one has the same function as a picture frame, you can remove the insert and place photos, quotes, patterned paper in with the season. Whether you go with the mirror or the traditional picture frame style, this tray can last through every season!
Since yesterday marked the first day of Autumn, we thought we would celebrate by giving you the a little something to use in your decorating! This free downloadable printable is available in two sizes — 8.5×11 and 11×14. Those sizes just happen to be a perfect fit with our Barnwood Tray. Love what you see here? From now until Thursday, September 26th, all of our barnwood products are 10% off with coupon code BARNWOOD.
One of the most popular product that we have ever carried at Frame USA has been our Barnwood Series. This frame is fantastic made of reclaimed wood from actual barns. We had a hard time ever keeping any of it on our shelves. It was so popular that our manufacturer just couldn’t come up with the material that we need to make the frames. This series is currently out of stock until further notice which has caused some anger from our customers, and we hate making our customers angry!
So here is what we did, we added three new members of the Barnwood family to our line. We could never replace the original Barnwood series in the hearts of our company or our customers but we had to fill the void caused by the out of stock barnwood, and we think we did a pretty good job.
Let us know what you think of the brand new members of the barnwood series!
Out of the three new series, The Appalachian Barnwood Picture Frames most closely resembles the original barnwood color. This series has a natural rugged beauty unique to America’s heartland. This series like the original barnwood is effective in both modern homes as well as classic. The actual frame is a smooth profile that provides all the beauty of a barn without the splinters!
For those that have been a loyal customers for a couple of years you may be scratching your head and thinking “didn’t they already have a Farmhouse Barnwood series?” and you would be correct! Back by popular demand our new and improved Farmhouse Barnwood series! This series comes in a white and a charcoal color and feature a 2″ wide flat profile. They are inspired by the look and feel of reclaimed barns.
Rocky Mountain Barnwood
This series hasn’t quite hit the shelves yet but we’re too excited about this frame to not tell you all about it! If you are looking for a more pioneer feel to your home without traveling all the way back to covered wagons then our Rocky Mountain series is for you. Rocky Mountain has a distressed rough around the edges feel to it that resembles the look and feel of log cabins of the American Frontier. This series is made from Rocky Mountain Spruce Pine Fir. and has the texture that so many of our customers adored about the original barnwood series. Typography meets interior decorating: designer Tosha Jackson adds Barnwood Picture Frames to her product line
The trend in typography as an art form is an increasingly popular option for home design and living spaces. The aesthetic shines in a home especially, where a well-designed group of fonts attract the eye and the viewer can take time to read the text.
Tosha Jackson of Turbogrfx makes her living by creating these typographic works of art. The big selling point of her work? Personalization. Customers send in colors they would like her to use, specific words, phrases and even the kind of material that they would like their piece printed on.
We were thrilled to hear from Tosha that she loved our Barnwood frames — not only that, but that her customers loved them! These framed typography pieces are flying off the shelves at her business – and you can see why in the images below. The pairings are absolutely perfect:

One of our customer’s favorite frame styles would have to be our Barnwood series. Its main aesthetic comes from the knots and imperfections that make up the frame–yes, this is real wood from real barns. Many of our customers who focus on photography or more rustic art find these frames to be among their favorites, completing beautiful compositions based on bright, natural colors or vintage black-and-white. You can find examples of that in a previous post.
Since these frames sell so well, we wanted to honor our loyal customers and provide you with a new line of barnwood: the Farmhouse series.
Available in a narrow, wide and white profile, these will make a great addition to any rustic art or home decor style. Taken straight from worn-out and unwanted barns, these picture frames exude southern comfort and quirky charm characteristic of our regular Barnwood series. We hope you’ll love them as much as we do!
How will you use our new frames? What kinds of art will look best? We’ll let you decide!
