Hello fellow framers! As we all know, summer is quickly coming to a close. And with that, comes all the fall things (HAPPY DANCE!). This season we’re introducing a brand new series to the Frame USA collection called “Timber”. Our new series Timber Barnwood is a great way to spruce up that She Shed, or dust off those old time, sepia-toned photos to hang around the house. It’s perfect for bringing the tranquility of outdoors inside your home. You’ll thank us for it once the weather gets cold!
Our CEO’s Favorite Frame Series
Wow, it’s a hard choice for me to try and name my favorite frame series. But, if you put me under pressure, I will give you some personal recommendations of what I would choose to frame my favorite image.
If you are looking for a GREAT gold frame, the American Value #797 Large has always been one of my favorites. It is manufactured at a value price and will look good anywhere. This frame is also very substantial when displayed on your wall.
If you have more of a simple taste in gold, like for a smaller print, maybe for the bathroom or kitchen, I would try American Value Gold #802 Thin—you will not be unhappy with the results.
Someone told me early on that with Framing simplicity is usually best. You cannot frame an image more simply that with our Corporate Series. I like the Corporate Narrow frames for just about anything. Corporate is the series you will find that architects choose most frequently for a business setting. It doesn’t take away at all from the artwork and instead enhances the product. A few of my favorite colors—Black, White, Canadian Walnut, Red Mahogany and Brazilian Walnut. You can’t go wrong.
To compliment the corporate frames I might try the Café Collection. The Expresso and Mocha Narrow are colors that are very popular and these choices look great in Narrow or Wide. The Black Series is a profile that will never go out of style. Next to the Corporate Series, the Black Series it is my favorite.
Under real wood frames—I love the Grande Series Frame in Black or Cherry. Grande is perfect for doing a lot of the same prints for resale or giveaway. The double finish that the Grande Series offers you will present you with the presentation vs. price you are looking for. The Clean Cut Series is remarkably good—in any color. The green, the blue, the red, the white, they all overachieve with a true “shaker” look. Also, they are at a great price point.
Decorate-It Series (especially 1.5 and 2” flat) for a real wood frames offers so many opportunities. Take a look at the “Stem Girls” image that we created where we have lasered the logo on this unfinished frame. It looks great!
We can laser on the Decorate-It frame or you can have your team decorate the frames themselves with glitter, color, markers, stick-on’s. We can create custom matting. The unfinished segment of our products offer many choices.
Rounding out my favorite series I must tell you I’ve always enjoyed the “stateliness” of our Napoleon frame. Napoleon would be perfect at the Biltmore. It is an old style which is something that never goes away.
Trying for a more contemporary look? Think about the True Depth series. The finish is stunning—white or black, you will not go wrong. At a custom framing shop you would easily pay 3 to 4 times our price.
Oh sorry, I’m out of space…I could go on and on…. If they let me write another article I’ll talk to you about our incredible Barnwood and Shadow Box frames. Until then, happy framing!
Frame USA’s sister site Posterservice, Inc. recently added two new posters to our growing collection of pieces by Ralph Steadman.
“The Secret of Dreams“, pictured on the right, is an illustration of Ralph Steadman’s interpretation of Sigmund Freud having the secret of dreams revealed to him in 1895. The poster shows Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis and one of the early 20th century’s most influential thinkers, sitting at his desk working. Behind Freud is a surreal mass of strange imagery, or “the secret of dreams”. Ralph Steadman spent over three years researching Freud and creating artwork inspired by him. He even visited Freud’s hometown and spent time in the rooms where he analyzed his patients. These works were ultimately published in an art book titled “Sigmund Freud”.
“Savage Journey“, pictured on the left, is based on Hunter S. Thompson’s book “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”. Steadman illustrated the novel which was published in 1971. “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” tells a surreal nonlinear narrative of characters traveling to Las Vegas on a psychedelic journey. The book explores themes of the declining American dream and the 1960s counterculture. Steadman and Hunter S. Thompson had a long partnership of Thompson writing books and articles which Steadman made illustrations for.
Posterservice Inc also has a poster of this famous drawing Steadman made for the book. The poster is self-titled “Fear and Loathing”. The Hunter S Thompson novel was adapted into a movie in 1988 which has become a cult classic. Steadman appears in the commentary for the movie in the DVD set, as well as in a documentary titled “Fear and Loathing in Gonzovision”.
Steadman has worked with numerous other authors including Ted Hughes, Adrian Mitchell, and Brian Patten. He has also illustrated covers for editions of classic books such as Alice in Wonderland, Treasure Island, and Animal Farm.
Posterservice Inc and Frame USA are incredibly honored to be able to work with such a prolific and well acclaimed artist. We take pride in making the work of influential artists accessible to everyone.
Frame USA is dedicated to helping those in need.
Every month, we support a different local or national charity by donating money, time, and other resources. Our goal is to raise as much money as possible and to offer our assistance to those who need it the most.
As part of our Monthly Charitable Gift Program, we donate to that month’s chosen charity organization $0.75 for every frame purchase made on our website, and $1.00 for every custom frame order through our local retail store. We also collect donations from our customers, vendors and key partners.
The charity we have chosen for June 2018 is the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence, also known as SPAN.
SPAN is a human rights organization committed to ending violence, and is based in Boulder, Colorado. They are a community organization working for advocacy and education. SPAN offers services and counseling for adults, youth, and children because they know that people of all ages need support.
They run an emergency shelter for individuals and families who need a safe place to stay. In their March 2018 newsletter, SPAN published this story about Becca, a mother living in their shelter:
“Becca is in shelter with us, she has three children in elementary school. Becca’s oldest child does not qualify for transportation from the school district because the school is less than two miles from our shelter and the child is seen as old enough to walk. However, Becca does not feel safe allowing the child to walk alone because of the family violence they are currently experiencing. For this reason she makes the walk — 1.9 miles — twice daily with her older child and coordinates this with the pick-up/ drop off schedules for her two other children. The total walking trips to bus stops and schools takes about 75 minutes each morning and afternoon.
This leaves Becca only a few hours a day to work on the things she hopes to accomplish while in shelter such as, finding permanent housing, connecting with legal support, getting to doctor’s appointments etc.”
– Written by Roshan Kalantar
Other resources SPAN provides include support for LGBTQ folks, legal advocacy, Latinx services, and support for immigrants. To learn more, visit their website here.
We are incredibly proud to be working with SPAN this month, and hope to provide them with a substantial amount of donations. To help us out, be sure to donate during the checkout process at frameusa.com!
The Frame USA print production team has gotten a major upgrade! With our new canvas art prints available on amazon.com we needed to improve and increase our technology in order to give our customers the best product and the fastest service.
On the right in the photo above is our Roland Soljet EJ-640 printer. Until last week, the Roland was working hard on it’s own to print all of our artwork orders. But as you can see, it’s now accompanied by the Epson SureColor S60600, allowing us to print two rolls of artwork at once!
Our new Epson printer has easier maintenance and a faster printing speed. This means very little trouble shooting and lots of printing being done! Since our art prints are printed in our facilities in Cincinnati, OH, this allows our employees to efficiently make, package, and ship all of our orders. We are dedicated to keeping our products made in the USA and creating more jobs for Americans!
Be sure to check out our amazon store here for a large selection of beautiful art prints and photography ready to hang in your home.
We have some exciting new things taking place around Frame USA and we want to share them with you!

Today marks the birthday of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of America! Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in a log cabin in Kentucky. He was the middle of three children with his youngest brother dying in infancy in the early 1800’s.
In 1816 the Lincoln family moved from Kentucky to Indiana, the main reason for the relocation was on account of property disputes and discrepancies in Kentucky, but another part was on account of slavery. The Lincoln’s were members of Separate Baptists church and had harsh moral standards opposing alcohol and slavery. Despite his religions standings, in 1842 Abe married Mary Todd who was from a wealth slave-holding family. The pair went on to have four children but tragically only one of them made it to adulthood.
It was in 1832, after the failing of his general store in New Salem, Illinois that Abe began his political career. Two years later, on his second campaign, Lincoln won election to the state legislature and two years after that he was admitted to the Illinois bar after teaching himself law by reading a plethora of law books. Lincoln continued on as a lawyer and then a Republican leader until 1860.
On November 6, 1860, Abe Lincoln was elected the 16th President of the United States and he was the first President to be elected from the Republican Party. Lincoln won this election only because of his support in the North and West; he only won two of the 996 counties in the Southern states and no ballots were cast for him in 10 of the 15 Southern states. The US was divided and that came to a head on April 12, 1861 when Confederate troops opened fire on the Union, marking the beginning of the Civil War. This war later became known as the bloodies war in American history with over 600,000 lives loss.
On January 1, 1863 President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation. This proclamation declared that all persons held as slaves shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free! What a lot of people don’t know is that the Emancipation Proclamation on applied to states in open rebellion (Arkansas, Virgina, Texas, Nor Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, Florida and Alabama) but not slave-holding border states (Missouri, Delaware, Maryland, Kentucky) or areas of the Confederacy that had already been under Union control. In simple terms; the Emancipation Proclamation prohibited the Union army from returning runaway slaves to their owners so any escaped slave who was able to get behind the lines of the Union army and any who lived in an area captured by the Union where therefore considered free.
Four months after the Union defeated the Confederacy at the Battle of Gettysburg (the biggest battle of the Civil War), Lincoln gave his most famous speech, the Gettysburg Address. The Gettysburg Address lasted only two minutes and is only 272 words but it’s power was felt well beyond that.
Abraham Lincoln was later assassinated by John Wilkes Booth on April 14, 1865 while watching a play at Ford’s Theater. He was killed five days after the surrender or Robert E. Lee as the Civil War was winding down.
To celebrate the life of Abraham Lincoln take a look at our popular Lincoln Internet Quote poster:
“The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) mission is to provide optimal care and services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses and to their families and caregivers.
AFA was founded in 2002 by Bert E. Brodsky, whose mother lived with Alzheimer’s disease from 1980-1992. At that time, there was little information available and nowhere to turn for support. Mr. Brodsky’s goal was to make sure that no other family living with Alzheimer’s disease would have to go through the journey alone.
Fifteen years later, AFA has grown to a network of more than 2,600 member organizations nationwide that provide direct care and services. To date, AFA has trained more than 13,000 healthcare professionals in dementia-specific care, provided free, confidential memory screenings to over 3.5 million people, and provides support, counseling and education to thousands.”
To help with the vision, Frame USA will be donating to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in appreciation for your online order for the month of February.

On Friday, December 22nd Frame USA hosted our annual Holiday party to celebrate the hard work every member of the team contributed in 2017! The party was held in the infamous Empower U room which was decked out for the holiday festivities.
In addition to the wonderful decorations, the Empower U room was filled with a delicious assortment of food thanks to our lovely caterers and a few employees who decided to bless us with some desserts.
Once the food was devoured, everyone participated in a company-wide raffle. The raffle has some pristine gifts such as: an Amazon Echo, virtual reality goggles, an Xbox One, a Kindle Fire, a 12 piece cutlery set and a 50 inch TV among other things.
In addition to the raffle, prizes were awarded to a few individuals who went above and beyond and had exceptional work in 2017. The first award was our Raving Fan Award. What’s a Raving Fan you ask; a Raving Fan is a customer that is more than just satisfied with services and products….they RAVE happily about them. Raving Fans return to a business because they are thrilled with the service from the minute they view the company’s websites to the minute they receive their product. Not only that, these customers RAVE about the company and the service to all their friends and family so those people will want to see and experience it for themselves! Jon from the office team and Chris from the warehouse team were the recipients of this award.
Our next award was the Most Valuable Player and our team is so strong that we had FOUR MVP’s! Jenn was Frame USA’s most valuable manager of the year, Jill won the award for the office team and the warehouse team had two winner, Gail and Carla.
Our third award of the night was the Iron Person Award. This was given to someone who was versatile in their abilities to help out at Frame USA and they exemplified great efforts with going above and beyond the call of duty. This award was given to Cathy for the outstanding accomplishments she achieved throughout 2017.
The final award of the night was the Cal Ripkin, Jr. “2,632” award and it was rewarded to Jim.
Overall the party was a complete success! We hope that everyone had just as wonderful a holiday season as we did at Frame USA. As we enter 2018 we’d like to say that for over 30 years we have been proud to be an American made business. Producing more than 3,000 frames a day, we use 100% U.S. raw materials and also manufacture 100% in The United States. When you buy from us, you don’t just receive outstanding picture frames — you’re supporting American jobs, workers, and economy. We hope to continue to supply you with frames well into 2018 and beyond!
Cheers To A New Year!
“In December of 2010, Dan Regenold, CEO of Frame USA, had a vision; to fill an entire 53′ foot semi-truck for a local charity. He knew this would be his biggest charitable giving project and he would need a team to assist him. He put together a team of giving coordinators consisting of: packers, donation collectors, marketing professionals and more, to help coordinate this massive event in under 30 days. By the end of December, Frame USA ended up needing a second truck because they over filled their semi by 7%. This resulted in 833 boxes and over 30 skids equaling more than 22,200 donations!
The truck didn’t stop there. To Dan, the truck represented hope, life and a second chance for people within his community who were down on their luck. It was at this point that the truck became a catalyst, ultimately giving birth to what is now called Fill The Truck.
In 2011, Frame USA expanded the Fill The Truck charity initiative to partner with 9 businesses to host a total of 8 trucks and/or storage units throughout the greater Cincinnati, northern Kentucky and southern Dayton area. Each business hosted a truck and collected donations for a local charity. In 2012, Fill The Truck hosted 6 trucks at 6 different locations.
In the last two years, 2015 and 2016, Fill The Truck has grown and in each of the last two years the charitable initiative has collected over 40,000 items at multiple locations throughout greater Cincinnati.
This year, the 2017 vision is to fill multiple trucks and provide substantial donations to each charity. We have partnered with 17 different businesses and corporate partners to donate items to seven great charities.
We are collecting donations to Fill The Truck. Even just basic things such as toilet paper, personal care items, winter clothing and bedding can have a profound impact for those who are in need. Please consider donating an item today through our website.”
To help with the vision, Frame USA will be donating to Fill The Truck in appreciation for your online order for the month of December.
We are proud to support this great organization. Be sure to donate during the checkout process to help us support this great charity!
